Leaders in Action
Leaders in Action (LIA) is an innovative 6-month training, coaching and action learning program designed to support frontline leaders step into their leadership capacity fully.
I designed the program after noticing the pattern of how often technical professionals (in all sectors) were promoted to leadership positions with little formal leadership skill development to ensure their success in their new role.
This unique program focuses on practical skill development for today’s frontline leaders, plus individual coaching and an action-learning project. The action-learning project requires the LIA participants to work as a team and choose a specific business issue or opportunity they want to address.
In the last module, the LIA cohort present their research findings and recommendations to senior leadership and with their approval, implement the action learning project in the organization. This powerful strategy connects the ideas and talent of the frontline leadership with the senior decision makers in your organization, which creates a joint conversation about visioning and implementing the ongoing future success of your organization.
We have successfully run 16 LIA cohorts in Canada and 2 LIA cohorts in the UK with over 400 graduates. This program has a proven track record for creating a dynamic network of leaders who continue to build their leadership capacity & adapt to the changing needs of their organizations long after the program is over.
Due to its success in Canada and the UK, I have now created a licensing model, including an accredited LIA Train the Trainer program, to enable organizations to build their own LIA Faculty to deliver the program internally.
